We would like share announcement that the Newah Organization of America’s upcoming 14th Annual Convention and General Meeting’s theme, venue and program structures have been changed.
The upcoming Annual NOA Convention is tribute to the Earthquake Disaster Relief Effort and its victim on the aftermath of the debilitating and disastrous earthquake of 7.9 Richter scale that struck our Homeland on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Due to this Earthquake thousands of people have been died and hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless with entire villages flattened, across many districts of the country. Centuries-old buildings were destroyed of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley.
This year’s convention theme is “Nepal’s Earthquake: Relief, Recovery and Rebuild”.

During this National Convention, world renowned expert on culture and socioeconomic aspects of Nepal, David Gellner, Ph. D., Professor at the University of Oxford, UK. He will speak to us with many illustrations on the heritage and monuments of Nepal and essentiality of re-built our nation’s heritage and many aspects of the Earthquake and its aftermath.

NOA would like to invite all members of the community around Washington Metropolitan area to join hands and take part in paying respect to the all departed soul, and come to heal in sadness and observe a moment of silence. This is the time for the community to come together to help the People of Nepal and NOA shall do all in its power to facilitate a concerted effort forward in a well
organized and just manner so that all donations received will reach to “those who needed and where it needed”.
