We, 36 Nepalese organizations based in the Greater Washington Metropolitan area, are jointly organizing a very popular, heart touching sensational Nepali movie “Kohinoor” acted by the renowned actor late Shree Krishna Shrestha on Saturday, June 20th with an object to help earthquake victims and rebuild efforts in Nepal.
As we admire that there are many Nepalese organizations/individuals who have been actively involved in raising funds and materials to help support the survivors of the deadliest earthquake in Nepal. The “Kohinoor” film show is one of the joint efforts in collecting funds for Nepal earthquake victims. In this difficult moment, there is a huge need of unity among Nepalese people living all over the world. Without any question, we can rebuild our country Nepal by upholding strong solidarity and unity. As such, we now want to express our one voice that is “please come and join us for special Kohinoor show”. Your participation means so much to us toward helping earthquake relief efforts in Nepal. Please circular this important message to community members and ask them to purchase tickets for this good cause at both individual and institutional levels. Net proceeds from this film show will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund through Embassy of Nepal, Washington, DC. This clearly signifies our solidarity and donation to help support Nepal earthquake relief and rebuild efforts.
Mrs. Sweta Khadka, a popular film actress and wife of actor late Shree Krishna Shrestha, also attends this film exhibition. During the program, actor late Shree Krishna Shrestha will be honored with “Amar Tara” award in Nepalese film industry.
